Being from the South, grits are a must! We can't survive without them. My husband said he thinks that his mother gave him grits in a bottle, before she gave him milk.

4 cups water

1 cup quick grits

3/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup butter

1 (6-ounce) roll garlic cheese

2 large eggs, beaten

1/2 cup milk

Cook grits in salt & water. When thickened add butter & cheese. Mix until melted. Stir in eggs & milk, mixed together. Pour into greased 12x8-inch baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Yields: 8 servings.

NOTE: Sometimes I add grated Colby Jack cheese to mixture before baking.
