2 1/2 to 3 pounds cooking apples, cored & quartered (peel if desired)

7 tablespoons butter

1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup light brown sugar

1/2 cup water

 

*Layer apples in a 2-quart baking dish.

*Cover each layer with butter, cinnamon, & both sugars.

*Pour water over top.

*Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until tender.

*Do not overcook, you still want the apples firm not mushy.
