Serve with a tossed salad & garlic bread & you have a complete meal!
1 pound extra lean ground beef or ground sausage
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 cups spaghetti sauce with mushrooms (more if needed)
Oregano to taste
6-ounces spaghetti, salted, cooked & drained
2 tablespoons butter
2 eggs, beaten
1/3 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
1 cup cottage cheese
3/4 to 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
*Cook ground beef or sausage with bell pepper & onions until done; drain well.
*Add spaghetti sauce & oregano.
*Stir butter into drained hot spaghetti; add eggs & parmesan cheese.
*Form spaghetti mixture into a crust in a 10-inch pie plate.
*Spread bottom of crust with cottage cheese.
*Spread meat mixture over cottage cheese.
*Cover edges of crust with foil to prevent over browning.
*Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes.
*Sprinkle top with mozzarella cheese & bake 5 to 10 minutes or until cheese melts.
Yields: 4 to 6 servings.
