Rolls:

 

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

3 teaspoons baking powder

1/3cup oil

3/4 cup milk

Butter, softened

Sugar

Cinnamon

 

 

Combine flour, salt & baking powder together; add oil & milk, stir just until moist. Place on a floured surface & knead 3 times. Divide into 8 equal parts & roll to about 1/8-inch thick.  Place about 3 tablespoons butter, 2 tablespoons sugar & cinnamon to taste on each roll.  (You may add desired amounts of filling).  Roll each up loosely & place into a buttered 9x13-inch baking dish, seam side down. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes or until golden brown.  Make syrup while rolls are baking.

 

 

Syrup:

 

1 1/2 cups sugar

1 1/4 cups water

3 tablespoons butter

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon or to taste

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

 

 

Bring first 4 ingredients to a boil, add vanilla & remove from heat.  As soon as rolls come out of oven, pour syrup over the top, return to oven for 5 minutes.  Remove from oven & let stand about 15 minutes before serving, to soak up syrup.
